Meet Our Leadership Team

Michael Scalzo

Michael Scalzo. Vice President of Operations. Northwest Center.

Vice President of Operations

Michael Scalzo joined Northwest Center in 2018 as Vice President of Operations, after holding leadership and management roles at several local companies, including Savers, Cost-U-Less, ADW/Costco, and Nordstrom.

A key executive at one Seattle company for more than 10 years, Michael was instrumental in building the company. His expertise includes supply chains, merchandizing, operations, procurement, and distribution. As Director of Supply Chain and Director of Partner Development for Savers, Michael worked with more than 150 nonprofit partners.

Melanie Clark

Melanie Clark. Director of Customer Engagement. Northwest Center–The Big Blue Truck.

Director of Customer Engagement

Melanie Clark has more than 30 years of customer service and management experience. At The Big Blue Truck, she has worked as a Senior Manager, Administrative Manager, and Call Center Supervisor. Currently, she focuses on improving the customer experience and leading community and customer engagement. Melanie also serves on Northwest Center’s Equity Committee and as a leader for equitable change.

Before joining Northwest Center, Melanie spent 28 years with Regis Corporation as a Western Washington Area General Manager, overseeing 22 locations and leading businesses to higher profitability and sales growth. She is passionate about training, employee development, and customer relations.

Kyle Ryan

Director of Operations

A native of Northern Kentucky, Kyle Ryan held management and leadership roles at national companies, including FedEx Ground, Sunshine Logistics, and Europa Sports Products, before joining Northwest Center. Kyle’s extensive background in supply chain, distribution, procurement, production, and sales logistics, combined with his passion to help others has been a perfect match at Northwest Center.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Kyle was always drawn to the Pacific Northwest. When he is not applying his engineering skills to home construction projects, Kyle can be found biking around West Seattle or kayaking in the Puget Sound.
