If you donate to The Big Blue Truck, the driver will give you a receipt
Items donated to Northwest Center, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
It is the donor's responsibility to keep a written record of the donation and the value. Northwest Center cannot determine the fair market value of items donated. For information and guidelines on valuing a donation, consult IRS publication 561.
Please bag and box your items, especially if they are fragile.
Be sure to label your bags or boxes with the letters "NWC"—our drivers cannot pick up unmarked packages or items.
Set your donation out by 7:30 a.m. on the day of the pickup. Our drivers start their routes at 7:30 a.m. and pickup continues until dark.
If raining, we recommend that you double bag your donation. If you need to change your pickup location from the curb to a sheltered area, call us first at 800-992-2060.
Our trucks start their routes at 7:30 a.m. and pick up until dark, so your stop could be made at any time during the day.
Please call 800-992-2060 or e-mail us no later than 7:30 a.m. on the day scheduled, and we will remove your stop from our list. We will be very grateful you saved us the time and gasoline—and we can always reschedule your pickup.
Northwest Center only picks up furniture items that are less than 50 lbs. and can be safely lifted by one person. If you take your furniture to select Value Village stores, your donation will benefit Northwest Center.
Northwest Center has had a partnership with Value Village since 1967. All items donated to Northwest Center are purchased by Value Village, where they are re-sold in local thrift stores. By working together, Northwest Center receives valuable funding for our programs and we divert reusable items from local landfills.
For items we don't accept such as TV consoles, large appliances and hazardous materials, try these alternative solutions:
